This novel is called The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and is written by Mark Twain. The novel “ The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” was first published in December of 1884. Mark Twain, the author, wrote much more great stories about the time period he was born. Some examples are Roughing It, The Gilded Age, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A Tramp Abroad, and etc. One award that was represented to Mark Twain was the American Humor award. All of his books were very humorous. This novel's genre is Satire. Satire is a genre that means humor, irony, or exaggeration.

The novel that we read this trimester is called The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This novel is about a young boy named Huckleberry Finn who was in Missouri getting civilized by a widow and her sister who doesn't have a name. The widow told huck that if he doesn't learn to be a gentlemen and doesn't do good deeds he will go to hell. Huck feels something weird and decides to take the money that he found to judge Thatcher. The next day Hucks drunk dad comes and tells him to give him the money, but Huck tells him he was too late because he gave his money to Judge Thatcher. Then Huck's dad kidnaps Huck and takes him to a van in the woods. This novel takes place in the 1800’s when people thought that white people were better than black people. And when there was also slavery. Jim was a slave because he was black. He ran away so he would be sold because back then white people would have black slaves and sell them if they wanted to. On the other hand, Huck didn't feel the same way the society did. Huck counted Jim as a friend he didn't care what others said. Jim was Huck's friend because Huck wasn't rude to him and didn't treat him as a slave. As Huck and Jim went on their little adventure Jim showed Huck about what the society thinks and that he didn't like
