Dante, as a person represents man and finding yourself throughout the journey along Hell. In the beginning you see Dante lost; showing error and sin. On the celestial side of our infographic are the Three Blessed Ladies: Beatrice, representing divine love. Virgin Mother of Mary, mother of Jesus Christ and representing creation, Lucia name meaning light. Virgil, Dante's guide and father figure through his journey through Hell represents human reason. As the make there way down from Hell, they see many faces of mythology, and history who all symbolize sins committed. The punishments are decided by these people's actions in which include their destiny. Dante sees a variety of different types of sins: incontinence (no control) violence and fraudulence.
