This is effective because you are showing good practice by firmly sticking to the Human Rights Approach and this will demonstrate that you are a competent Social Care worker. There are 5 key principles that underpin the approach to ensuring human rights are upheld and promoted within the workplace setting. The principles are called ‘PANEL’ which stands for- Participation, Accountability, Non-discrimination and Equality, Empowerment and Legality of rights.
Participation means that everyone has the right to be involved in decisions that could potentially put their Human Rights at risk (What is a human rights based approach?, http://careaboutrights.scottishhumanrights.com, Care about Rights). The Children and Young People’s Commissioner is a well-recognised association that ensure laws and policies to ensure everyone’s rights are respected (Policy and Research, https://www.cypcs.org.uk, Children and Young People’s Commissioner
