In the dissertation reviews the types of writing’s performed in the field of human services. While This report covers the variety of writing’s done in the field, it more so elaborates on progress writings carried out by a social worker or case manager. Also it provides information about the formats and formulas used to assemble the types of documents wrote. If chosen a career in the field of humans services, undeniable this report helps undergraduates get a glimpse of what types of writings are done, how to create them, why they are created and other job profession that allows the use of these types of writings. There are also court reports and agency report documented as well (Brooks, 2011). The types of writing performed by the professional depends on the agency in which they are employed, usually progress notes are the more common writings amongst social workers and case managers. Progress notes can also be referred to as SOAP’S, The S: Subjective data are the clinically important statements that the client may make, the social worker will not asses these statements. The O: Objective data is observable, measurable behavioral observation. In the O section facial expressions and body language can be documented as well, if it is tied in with the client’s treatment plan. Google offers another search engine called google scholar, if typed into googles original search engine or Bings’ it will be the first listed. what Google does scholar does is help sort out other sites and only shows you scholarly articles or other credible sites. All of my research is extracted from online research I did not use my school’s library. Finding information from electronic data base was a difficult process, basing my research on the instructions given finding reliable sites and evaluating the sources found was very time consuming. For my primary source search, I used an interview example taken from YouTube. The video gave an example of what a social worker does in an interview, the professional further demonstrated when to note and gave ides on what you should note (Datchickjerri, 2011). Choosing my secondary sources where build off of my primary sources, so I gathered sources telling how to create soap notes and assessments, I selected these credible sources to also give a better understanding of the primary sources information as well.
