Human Trafficking Solutions Human trafficking is an issue throughout the entire world that needs to be stopped, completely. Human trafficking is known as the illegal recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of people by threat or use of force such as coercion, abduction, fraud or even a position of vulnerability, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation (“Human Trafficking”). Human trafficking is a global issue. At this time, there are insufficient resources to address human trafficking. Additional resources, such as new laws and increased government activity should be put into place to terminate human trafficking.

The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 was passed by the United States Congress and signed by President William Clinton. The act states, “to combat trafficking in persons, especially into the sex trade, slavery, and involuntary servitude, to reauthorize certain Federal programs to prevent violence against women, and for other purposes.” This act is to help protect the victims of human trafficking. Studies have shown that human trafficking victims tend not to go forward to the police to report what they have been through because they suffer tremendously and show mistrust in the government (Wagner). If this act were to be enforced further than what it is already enforced, more victims would come forth with what they went through. The victims would come forward more because they will be protected by the government and the government would show that they care for the victims. The government would protect them from their alleged attacker. The laws and acts that are already in existence and new laws that are being passed in the United States of America will help protect the victims of human trafficking; however, they need to be enforced further than what they are

In order for the laws and acts to be paid for, the government must issue out a new tax each year to support the victims. First, the government will need to inform the public of what their tax money is going to. Next, the government will need to estimate how much money they need each year to support and protect the victims of human trafficking. Finally, the government will need to enforce these laws and acts. In order for the government to enforce these laws and acts, they will need to properly train the police force members on how to handle these situations better than what they do now. Then, the police force will need to speak to each victim that they are already aware of about speaking out on their experience and the signs of a human trafficking victims. If the government follows these steps on paying for the new acts and laws, then the acts and laws will work perfectly as
