Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank the Master of the Ceremony for giving me this very special opportunity. I stand before you to congratulate the well performers and motivate those who didn’t do so well. But firstly, I humbly greet you all starting from the head of the school, the deputy, the School Management Team, head of departments, and all my colleagues. This is because you deserve all that you have received and achieved. Let me assure you that education can buy you a fancy car and makes you an owner of a mansion. Literally, I mean that with education you can live a very good life that every person aspires to live. I encourage you to continue your studies with the same or more improved effort and determination. Should you keep in mind the words of Julius Nyerere (n.d), “Education is not a way to escape poverty; it is a way of fighting it”. This means that education will give you the necessary weapons such as knowledge, skills, understanding, wisdom, morals, and values to combat poverty. We should not congratulate only the top academic achievers. I am certain that those who did not receive awards today have achieved something valuable in this academic year. Some learners might have gained intellectual improvement, acquired good morals and values, and also psychomotor skills. But those of you who did not do so well academically, time is still available to increase the effort you put in your studies. It has been proven by science that every person has the capacity to learn and achieve high. It just depends on the strategies you use to learn and to study, and the effort you put in your studies. With these words, I encourage you to evaluate you’re your intellectual levels, and then ask your teachers to help you find the study methods that suits your intellectual level. Almost all of you might know this quote of Martin Luther King Junior (2017), “If you cannot fly then run, and if you cannot run then walk, if you cannot walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward”. This quote encourages every person who has not achieved their goals not to give up. All you have to do is to change your strategy and find the one that will help you reach your destiny. I assure you that if you study smart, next time you will be the ones lifting up the trophies and putting on yourselves
