People filled the empty chairs and the wedding party took their places. The groom and his men stood next to a wall made of ice which had pink lights illuminating the surface, projecting a romantic glow. Overhead the sun began to set and paint the sky with strokes of orange, pink and purple. She closed her eyes and exhaled. This was the worse news.
“You know, Martin’s our current goalie, and he’s one of my best friends. I can’t exactly welcome the new guy with open arms. It feels disloyal. But he’s on our team now. All that matters is working together and winning games. The regular season will be over soon. Then it’s do or die time,” he whispered in her ear.

This evening had turned into a living hell. Her ex moved to stand behind her. She felt his body heat, and smelled his familiar rich, spicy scent.
