I totally agreed with you. I too don't think Columbus Day should be a celebration of Columbus victory in discovering America. However, I do think we should keep the holiday and make it a day to grief for the lives lost from Columbus' violence and greed. I don't think Americans repay the Indians enough after putting them through such horror and genocide. Instead, we hurt them even more by naming a Holiday after their murder.

The United States of America is a land of freedom, a land of equality, and opportunity. We value independence and should look to exercise this in every form, as a nation. We must stay united and show respect to one another.
