In the book, The Hunger Games, one of the main events is when Katniss volunteers for her sister, Prim, to participate in the annual Hunger Games. After reading this event, I was very surprised. I noticed that Katniss surprised herself by saying she would volunteer, but then quickly recovered once she remembered that the reaping would be shown on television. “…this is upsetting me and I don’t want to cry. When they televise the replay of the reapings tonight, everyone will make note of my tears, and I’ll be marked as an easy target.
Second it was a very good book. It was good mainly because it makes you like the characters more and more over time so when they die it makes you sad and it puts a lot of emotion into the book. That is good because a lot of books don 't have that. Those
I went and read several other reviews on this story and the majority said that they loved this book. And another can be also added to that list, myself. I absolutely fell in love with this book. After getting a couple of chapters in, the story really started to pull me in. I would look at the clock and realize that I had been reading for over an hour when it felt like I had been reading for twenty minutes.
The book I chose to read was “The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls. “The Glass Castle” was memorable because it gave me an idea about the diversity of each person. The story was told through the perspective of a young girl who does not understand right from wrong because she believes what her father tells her. I think this book is popular because it expressed ideas that are typically thought of as wrong or ideas that many turn away from. The author included outstanding imagery that puts the reader into the shoes of the main character.
My favorite author is Suzanne Collins they book she wrote was the Hungry Games and the Catching Fire and also Mocking jay. The first book is the Hunger Games it about District 12 and how each girl or boy volunteer tributes they have to fight a death on live television they have to survived and not die or be elimination. In the second book Catching Fire Katniss arrived home safely and then there is District 11 were Katniss and Peeta lie about them being together and fake that they both in love with each when they not in love at all. Katniss and Peeta always get trained when they getting ready to started a game and battle. In the last book Mocking Jay President Snow was obsession with destroying Katniss and with dangerous enemies and a moral
I am glad I have read this book and I have learned so many new things. It transitions between regents in the past and present really smoothly and moves the story along nicely. The dynamics between the characters were really enjoyable as well. I liked how Colleen vaguely hints about random details we don't think much of as a reader, then specific detail turns out to link to a huge turning point in the plot. Her use of motifs is page-turning.
Catching Fire, book two of the Hunger Games Trilogy, is a novel about two victors, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. The author's message is about joining together to overcome the things that control us. The two victors were chosen for the previous annual hunger games, because of tribute Katniss' stunt with the poisonous berries. An act, that was supposedly an act of love, was seen as defiance towards the Capitol. This resulted in rebellion and attempted uprisings.
“The Hunger Games”, by Suzanne Collins, is about twelve, previously thirteen, districts, that are under constant observation, and suppression from the Capital. The Capital controls everything, and everyone in the districts since the rebellion. Annually they host a game to keep everyone under control. The Tracker Jackers are venomous, genetically modified hornets that were created by the Capital in order to fight against the rebellion. They symbolize fear, control, and suppression.
A False ideology that the capitol enforces amongst each district is that they are well taken care of and that the Capitol will do what benefits their citizens in every situation. Unfortunately, Panem is not a democratic civilization that takes input from the members of society. Due to it repressive dystopian society, members of society are forbidden to rebel against the government. Katniss and Peeta, her fellow tribute, recognize the falsity allergies that consist in their society and decide to rebel against the capital with the only leverage they can control their entertainment. Upon the ending of the hunger games, Katniss and Peeta are informed only one tribute may win.

A world where the government completely ignores these apparent issues and instead holds annual hunger games taking 24 children, a boy, and a girl from each district, and making them fight to the death while the whole nation watches. Citizens of Panem ages 12 to 18 are entered into a drawing, and every year two children are picked to compete in a brutal competition that only ends when there is one child left in the arena. Lastly, I liked this book because it gave me an insight of what my life could be like when I get to college. About halfway through the book I was questioning what the author was trying to portray. Honestly, I did not fully figure it out until the end of the book. Towards the beginning I thought that maybe it was going to be about him helping a very shy kid come into the light.

Her life influences the way she wrote her books, The Hunger Games Trilogy, with a TV game show, footage from the war in Iraq, and from her knowledge of a battlefield from what her father had taught her.
