Hurricane Hazel was the deadliest and costliest hurricane of the 1954 Atlantic hurricane season. The storm killed at least 400 people in Haiti before striking the United States near the border between North and South Carolina, as a Category 4 hurricane. After causing 95 fatalities in the US, Hazel struck Canada as an extratropical storm, raising the death toll by 81 people, mostly in Toronto. As a result of the high death toll and the damage caused by Hazel, its name was retired from use for North Atlantic hurricanes.
The article describes the events that happened at Memorial Medical Center during and immediately following Hurricane Katrine in Uptown New Orleans. Early this Friday, Hurricane Patricia became the strongest storm ever measured on the planet and headed towards Mexico. The life-threatening storm arrived on Mexico's Pacific coast Friday evening. Although it has been weakened slightly since its landfall, it still poses a serious threat as it rages havoc on the Mexican coasts. Patricia touched down about 6:15 p.m. along the coast of Mexico, a few hours after weakening a bit with sustained winds of 90 mph and gusts to 235 mph.

The Storm Lightning crashes overhead as I race back into the house, dripping wet. I was just returning back from an adventure in the woods. The storm was unexpected, even the forecasters had never expected it. Luckily, I managed to make it back inside safely.
