“I survived Middle School!” A young teen might say, “I am finally done, I am a survivor.” But what this teen does not know is that it’s just the beginning. As kids mature, they will experience many traits to help them survive in different situations. Hyeonseo Lee used skills to escape from North Korea, Aaron Ralston was stuck in the Grand Canyon for 127 hours, and Becca and Tyler From “the Visit” spent a whole week with their grandparents. To be a survivor, Lee stays calm, Ralston shows perseverance, and Becca and Tyler use their curiosity.

Aarons hand was stuck in a bolder, and unable to get it out it stayed like that for days. On the fifth day on page 4, Aron saw a vision of his future son. Ralston quotes, “now I believe I will live. That belief that boy, changes everything for me.” Ralston know there was hope and he did not give up, he kept on pushing for survival. That vision helped Ralston realizes there was a way out alive. He knew he would have to sacrifice his hand, but he knew one day he will have a blessing of his own. Later on day 6, page 5, Ralston “Lashes out in a fury” and he shifts his arm. “There is no hesitation” he explained and within minutes, “both bones have splintered in the same place, just above the wrist.” Ralston has now found a way to be free from the rock. During the movie, the 2 kids choose to do a documentary of their grandparents to get answers for their mom. On the first night, the kids were told to stay in their bedrooms for the whole night. But a strange noise woke them and they were tempted to open the door. Becca reminded Tyler what their grandpa had told them, but they opened the door anyway. The kids used their curiosity to find their grandma roaming around the house and acting very strange. They became suspicious due to this and used caution when interacting with their grandparents. Later on the third night, Tyler decided to set up a camera to film the activity going on at night, despite the fact Becca told him not to. Tyler’s curiosity revealed grandma’s perspective of them. When they replayed the film, they found the grandma standing in front of their bedroom door with a knife in her hand in the footage. Becca and Tyler’s curiosity lead to many discoveries of the grandparents to help them survive. Lees calmness, Ralston’s perseverance, and Becca’s and Tyler’s Curiosity lead them to be survivors. Lee was a normal girl, when her government came after her and her family. Ralston was an experienced rock climber when he got stranded in the Grand Canyon. And Becca and Tyler were kids just helping their mother live a better life. But they all got through the situation because of these traits. So
