I read the book I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai (u-sef-lai). Malala was born in Mingora, Pakistan on July 12, 1997. Her parents are Torpekai (tor-pa-khai) and Ziauddin (zi-ai-ding) Yousafzai (u-sef-lai). Her father grew up in Pakistan with a stutter, during his times growing up, Russia invades Afghanistan, but since he was till too young he couldn't fight in the war. But because of his childhood, his view on war and life enable him to conquer his stutter and become a well-rounded speaker, he was motivated to educate others. While Malala was visiting her grandfather in Barkana, Changla she learns to appreciate her freedom. The introducing of Islamic law begins when there was a large earthquake that hits Malala’s hometown and surrounding area causing immense damage. But the government does very little to help the peoples. But over time, the Taliban started to gained many supporters, including women who cannot go out in public anymore. They declare war on the Pakistani government and train female suicide bombers. Which result in many dead, bodies were dumped in the town square, which is located in the middle of the town, making it known as the "bloody square”. So, after a few months, the two schools surrounding Malala's school are bombed, and Malala goes on a local news channel to do an interview about women's' rights. Shah Dauran who is a militant leader announced that all girls schools to be close. But the Taliban and the provincial government create a peace treaty allowing girls under the age of ten go to school.
