I was born in Gulfport, MS to the parents of Rene and Lorraine Acker. I am the baby of three children. My oldest sister “Syreeta” passed away before my brother and I were born. I admire my parents because even though my mom was pregnant with my brother they knew that they had to move on with their lives. Family, God, and friends are the only thing that really enabled them to move forward with their lives. My parents were very nurturing to me and my brother. I grew up in an environment that I was pleased to call home. Growing up my family was strict on both me and my brother. We were taught responsibility at an early age. My parents stressed how important it was for us to get an education so that when I have a family of my own we can assure that they will have a fruitful life. I really enjoyed my childhood because in my eyes I have very special parents that have taught me a lot about parenting a how to survive in this world today. I love the person that I have grown into today and really hope that when I have children they will appreciate me the way that I appreciate my mom and dad. Education has a strong structure foundation. Within one’s life, I believe that the connection between parent and teacher is a bond that can influence and connect a child together through the mesosystem. As a parent, I know that my children will be affected by general beliefs, behavior patterns, and value system in our society so that is why I plan to stress to them the importance of education. Education is something that no one should feel that they can’t accomplish because even though everything comes with a price the government has made ways in which you can acquire the needed funds to further your education. The academic performance and social relationship and interaction with peers and teachers are influenced by what happens in a child’s family
