Literary Exploration “Life Experiences” In life, our experiences affect us in different ways that eventually form our wold view. This experience affects the way we think, the way we speak, and how we deal with oncoming problems in life. Most experience that shapes and influence in life happens during childhood. In the excerpt “I Beat The Odds” Narrated by Michael Oher, and the Film “The Blind Side” directed by John Lee Hancock, Michael Oher’s past experience influences his present worldview in life. It is when Michael Oher struggles on his early stage of live and eventually changes him into something else. Michael Oher comes from a broken family. He doesn’t get enough support from her mother with at least thirteen children. Michael Oher’s mother is a cocaine addict and his father died while he is in high school. Because of that, Michael Ohers is in and out of temporary homes and often homeless. Having those kinds of problems in early age will result in a poor education. Michael struggles in his studies and barely passes any of his classes. The turning point of his life is when the Leigh Tuohy sees him walking alone outside the campus in a freezing cold weather just wearing a shirt and no jacket at all. Ms. Leigh Tuohy helps Michael and she opens her mansion for him to shelter. Eventually, the Tuohy family adopt Michael as a legal guardian. They provide him shelter, food, clothes, and a family. The Tuohys treat him as a real family and fill his life with love. Leigh Anne also hires a personal tutor to improve Michael’s grades. Michaels experience changes his life’s perception and view. Because of that experience, his life becomes happy and full of love. He learns that in spite of hardships in life, there is still a hope that life can turn in a different direction and become
