Words are spoken every day. Words are powerful. The words that are spoken every day have the power of life or death and to provoke, calm and inspire people. “The Statement on Assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King”, “I have a Dream speech”, and “Letter From Birmingham Jail each had a big impact on the people of America.” The speech that Dr. King delivered inspired people to make a change. Paragraph 20 of I Have a Dream states “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” The people were inspired to do something about having equal rights as caucasian people. Dr. King's words were so powerful that it moved people with inspiration. It takes one person to do something to make a spark and after that, it takes off like a firework. Being inspired makes people have more passion to do something whether it's something or someone. The power to inspire people gives people hope. The letter from the jail that Dr. King wrote helped calm people. It ensured that the fight for equality wasn’t over. By Dr. King being calm he was able to help others be calm, give restoration and peace of mind. Martin Luther King states “ Martin Luther King Junior dedicated his life to love and to justice for his fellow human beings, and he died because of that effort.“ This is a strong statement announcing his death. It was a tragic thing that had happened, and it provoked people to strive for justice. It was as if the power of the words in that statement caused people to not just be satisfied with the minimum. It provoked them to want to do more than what had already been done. They were going to get justice for Dr. King and all the people that died fighting for equal
