The story “Two Lazy Hunters” is a Cherokee trickster tale. The Cherokee lived in the American southeast region. In particular, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. Houses from the Cherokee tribe looked like a basket upside down. They were made out of bamboo from the river, tree branches, and were held together by dirt.

Jazz’s father was a cold blooded killer who was sent to prison for over 120 murders. Jazz is determined not to become like this and will do anything to avoid killing.
It's amazing how two people that have much in common can have totally different personalities. In Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game", Rainsford, a skillful hunter, is to go through many struggles against General Zaroff, his opponent with which he shares many similarities, in order for him to win a hunting contest while proving himself to be the owner of an amazing, unbreakable personality. Through his actions during a game of hunt against a much overconfident hunter, Rainsford proves to have the traits of an honorable man. At the beginning of the story, Rainsford bravely arrives, after falling from a yacht, to the shore of an isolated island. The latter is called ‘Ship Trap’ since it is known to have a bad reputation.

Although Truman Capote attempts to illustrate the humanity in the murderers, Mr. Capote’s primary goal is to separate the two murderers’ characters; therefore, he claims, not all murders are equally as guilty. Mr. Capote humanizes the murderers, creating a sympathetic tone towards the killers. When the crime of murdering the Clutter family was committed, it did not just end the lives of the family, rather, Capote says that, “...four shotgun blasts that, all told, ended six human lives” (Capote 5). Through the use of a paradox, Capote demonstrates how the murderers are not shown as monsters, but rather humans.

Introduction The book “On Killing” by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman discusses the taboo topic of killing and how humans are affected by it. The author does this with the help of testimonials coming from veterans who served in wars such as World War I, World War II, and Vietnam. The book looks at the act of killing and discusses some of the psychological methods that have been introduced to make soldiers effective killers as well as some psychological effects soldiers face in battle and when they return home. The purpose of this book is “to not only uncover the dynamics of killing, but to help pierce the taboo of killing that prevented the men in his book and many millions like them from sharing their pain” (pg.XXXV).
The Hunt It was a gloomy September day and the bear hunting season was about to begin. “Killings” written by Andre Dubus is focused on the main character and protagonist Matt Fowler. Matt is the father of three known children in the story, Cathleen, Steve, and his youngest, Frank. Matt had his children with his wife and business partner Ruth Fowler. In the beginning of the story Matt is laying his youngest son, Frank, to rest in the cemetery after he was brutally murdered by the story’s main antagonist, Richard Strout. At the time of his death, Frank was in school and majoring in economics (63) and had a very bright future ahead of him, after all, he was only twenty eight years old.
