Do I love or hate Lacrosse? Do I love it for what it has given me, the opportunity I desperately needed, and the learning opportunities I would be given. Or do I hate it for the effect it has had on me? We always hear about love/hate relationships, whether that can be from family, movies, or shows. I know I have found mine with Lacrosse. Starting at the young age of 11, I played soccer for most of my childhood years and as time went on I grew less and less fond of it. Once I started to discover Lacrosse and get familiar with it, there was a tryout for a small travel team called True Lacrosse. This team would later be considered family to me. I was substandard at the time and when I went to tryouts it was something I thought I guess I wanted to do. After I went to tryouts I came home really wanting to make the team at first. After a week I got called and was told I made the team, which was an event that started my whole journey and was one of the best successful events. As the years went on, I played for the team and became close with everybody and the coaches. This team helped me become more approachable and outgoing. One coach was a really big mentor to me and helped me get through the struggles I had in tournaments and games, teaching me lessons that I still use to this day. Playing with that travel team has its downsides; it was only in the summer and was different from something like high school where it was one game, there were multiple a day, and lasted a weekend, which I was not a fan of most of the time. Luckily, one of my teammates from travel allowed me to play for his school's team, which I did for all of middle school. This was a really good
