As the dialogue fades out and the music within the background enhances, a framed family photo is captured with a close-up camera-up shot highlighting the family as a focal point illustrating the importance of relationships within families within the Australian culture. The use of underscoring enhances the mood of the collective identity of the family in conjunction with the visible on-screen photo. The song lyrics also allude to the idea of how where you live can
Always Something More Beautiful “Always Something More Beautiful” is a poem by Stephen Dunn, born in Forest Hills, NY. I got attracted to this poem, because it reminded me when I was at the Regionals for a Cross-Country race and reflected how humans’ life can be fair or beautiful. The cluster “time, clock, finish” clarifies for a measurement that refers to a competitive race.

The main topic of the song that i chose for my song or poem essay is that the mans car radio was stolen. In Twenty One Pilots car radio, the lead singer (Tyler Joseph) sings about how when he was in college, someone stole his car radio amd how he was filled with discomfort because of it. Also the song is called car radio. The meaning that i will be focusing on is the theme of the song. Lastly the poetic devices i will be focusing are imagery and figurative laguage because the song has great examples of both.
Friendship is strong and can last a lifetime. In John Green's “Freak the Geek “a girl has Has problems in Hoover Prep School with older girls. In a society where songs with meaningless lyrics and repeated phrases gathers the most publicity, it is surprising to find songs that exhibit meaningful lyrics and thoughts. Unlike most hip-hop songs that contain useless repeated lyrics, Kanye West’s 2008 hit “Heartless” contains lyrics full of meaning. After producing this song, he was starting to approach the zenith of his career. This song became an instant hit for not only its soothing beats or sounds, but for its impactful lyrics that take the listener multiple attempts to really understand. This song tells the story of a tragic breakup between two individuals that cannot seem to get along.

The poem “A Story” by Li-Young Lee depicts the complex relationship between a boy and his father when the boy asks his father for a story and he can’t come up with one. When you’re a parent your main focus is to make your child happy and to meet all the expectations your child meets. When you come to realize a certain expectation can’t satisfy the person you love your reaction should automatically be to question what would happen if you never end up satisfying them. When the father does this he realizes the outcome isn’t what he’d hope for. He then finally realizes that he still has time to meet that expectation and he isn’t being rushed.
I interviewed one of my high school science teachers about her favorite song. Dr. Barr told me that her favorite song is from the bluegrass genre called “Wagon Wheel” (I had never heard this song before). She said that this song is her favorite because it is really catchy, but it does not have any special meaning for her. I asked her if she was able to remember this song’s lyrics and she could recall them partially. “Wagon Wheel” was released in the year of 2004 by a group called Old Crow Medicine Show and the instruments used during the song are banjos and guitars.
The poem “To This Day” by Shane Koyczan is to make the readers understand that there is hope for the ones who got, or even get bullied in school. Bullying happens every day in a regular school day and probably not on school days. “So we grew up believing that no one would ever fall in love with us, that we’d be lonely, forever.” (Line 23) The poet explains how by the countless names that the bullied endured, he thought no one could ever properly love the mistreated.
The poem A Step Away From Them by Frank O’Hara has five stanzas written in a free verse format with no distinguishable rhyme scheme or meter. The poem uses the following asymmetrical line structure “14-10-9-13-3” while using poetic devices such as enjambment, imagery, and allusion to create each stanza. A Step Away From Them occurs in one place, New York City. We know this because of the lines, “On/ to Times Square, / where the sign/blows smoke over my head” (13-14) and “the Manhattan Storage Warehouse.”

Tim McGraw is an American country singer and song writer. Many of his albums have been on top of music charts, making him the third best-selling country singer. I chose this song because I have listened to it since I was a child. I remember hearing it played on the radio frequently while I was in elementary school. Also, someone sung it in the talent show while I was in second grade. I love the message it has, especially when she says, “Feel the rain on your skin no one else can feel it for you.” This song is about being yourself and experiencing life and adventures for yourself because no one else can do it for you
