Love is everywhere, it drives people and it creates people. It is represented through forms of art and media. It is an emotion every human is dependant on and plays a role in every person’s life. Love is the centre of acts of passion yet what leads many people into self-destruction and denial. ‘I Wanna Be Yours’ by john cooper Clark portrays the emotive experience of being in love. ‘Our Love Now‘ by Martyn Lowery shows how the broken devastating side of a failing relationship which is heading in a mournful direction is made manifest. ‘I wanna be yours’ is a short poem with very few words and an includes a very rhythmic tune, an example is ‘I wanna’ . The reader becomes a lot more sympathetic and he exploits his crave for love. The reader begins to notice the previous metaphors actually show him as being unappreciated and used. This can be relatable to many people, which causes them to feel empathy for the person. ‘Deep as the deep Atlantic ocean, that’s how deep is my devotion’. This ending line represent’s the journey he’s been through and shows how passionately he does feel about love and in the end it is not a joke to him. ‘Our Love Now’ by Martyn Lowery shows an argument between a man who insists that the revival off his love is possible. It is evident that the male has done something wrong, as he believes he can fix the situation and uses physical examples of regrowth in the form of metaphors. ‘the cut will mend’. However is consistently shot down by his partner who has no faith in the relationship anymore. The female contradicts him by saying ‘ there is always a scar’. This shows us that there is no more common ground between these people who were once lovers and they aren’t mentally compatible
