An occupational therapist is someone who helps people with disabilities, or injuries or people who are ill to develop certain skills they need to live more independently. These skills may vary depending on the person they are working with. An occupational therapist helps promote public health by helping clients recover or develop what their patient feels they need help with in order to live their life. They work with patients to assist them to improve or develop their motor skills, visual perceptual skills, cognitive skills, and/or sensory skills. This is my chosen career because I think that it really revolves around helping people to meet their specific goals and needs in order for them to be healthier and live their life as they wish.

You earn your master's degree after you complete your bachelor's degree and must have maintained an average of a 3.0 GPA as an undergraduate student. Master’s programs might be hard to get into because they are competitive. You must also pass the National Board for Certification in occupational therapy exam. Universities in California have occupational therapist programs like San Jose state university, Stanbridge College, West Coast University, and more. After graduating and getting all your education done to become a occupational therapist it might be hard to actually land a job. While in the next 10 years job positions are expected to grow a 14% finding a job might be hard after graduation. But it also depends on the city you're located in, California, Florida, and Texas are some states where it might be easier to find a position because they actually have a shortage of occupational
