Forgotten

Introduction
When you die, life will move on, the world will not stop for you, nothing will change. You will be forgotten. Death is not avoidable, after you die you are either remembered for being an incredible person that has made change in the world, or a norm. Icarus, son of Daedalus is considered a norm, yet in his case his death hasn’t impacted anybody but Daedalus. Three artistic point of views were narrowed down and connected into one theme, or a main point that I definitely noticed.. The theme states the cycle of life and how everyone is forgotten with time, it is expressed and backed up with three different point of views, a painting by Breughel, and two poems by written by separate authors, William Carlos Williams, and W.H. Auden.

William Carlos Williams puts in a description about Icarus’s fall “sweating in the sun that melted the wings ' wax” he also starts off with spring, “Themes of rebirth and renewal often use symbols from the spring season. Spring also refers to love, hope, youth and growth.” The poem starts off with talking about spring, which symbolizes new beginnings, love, joy, and happiness, which completely throws Icarus’s fall out of the picture considering he died, William Carlos Williams talks about how he died as well, which is important because it describes how his death wasn’t random and him falling out of the sky isn’t confusing, it also links back into spring and how his fall was irrelevant and unnoticed. This poem gives people more than just a description, it has a wider explanation when you look into it, there are many symbols that truly define the poem which is extremely
