The next day the priest has set up an escape for them by a friends’ plane. Rebels find them again and they nearly escape the rebels. They fly to Brazil and their wounds are tended to and planes are booked to go home. Will becomes unafraid of death and his situation of the possibility of his parents fighting and divorce. I really enjoyed this book due to the suspense and action.
Odysseus’s goal is to reach his home land Ithica where he will be reunited with his family and restore his kingdom. After ten years of war, he finally sets sail to return. The forces along the way make Odysseus’s journey challenging and at times, overwhelming as he tries to reach home. Internal and external forces dramatically change the long, arduous trek for Odysseus and his crew. Despite all these forces, external conflicts like monsters and temptation hinder Odysseus’s journey more than internal forces do.
He did this mainly by using strategies such as foreshadowing, similes, metaphors, and rhyme schemes. The majority of this book is his journey up the mountain. I feel this book overall shows the types of conflicts and survival they had to go through during his journey. All of the characters faced different types of survival. I am going to talk about how they had to overcome natural conflict. ¨I timed my moves between various blasts of wind, which were becoming more frequent the higher I climbed.¨
Odysseus was an incredible hero who went on an incredible journey. He used his skills and strength to survive monsters, loneliness, and Poseidon's fury; though there were many like him in different stories. In the Odyssey by Homer and O’ Brother Where Art Thou by Ethan and Joel Coen shared an amazing hero, Odysseus and Ulysses. Though most importantly their journey and the challenges that came along with it, one being the temptress that could have cost them their lives. There were many comparisons between both of these fascinating stories, though the thing that captivates people the most is their incredible journeys.

Daedalus and Icarus both try doing something they know no human is able to do. By them trying to escape, it had consequences no one expected. Icarus had fell below and drowned. It was appalling. In literature, a common process for the protagonist to go through is to go on a journey in order for them to develop as a character and to further the story as a whole. I looked out the window, expecting to see the runaway crew member but instead I saw a different man who I immediately recognized as Odysseus. My spirits rose because I knew he was smarter than the others. Once again I lured him into my palace and offered him food and wine, which he refused. He only wanted to get his men returned to their original forms and to continue his journey to Ithaca with them by his side. When I finally convinced him to drink my wine, he was not affected by it.
