According to Biography.com, “O’shea Jackson A.K.A Ice Cube, was born on June 15, 1969 in South Central LA. Ice Cube was raised in a strict house, mother Doris Jackson raised him while his father Hosea Jackson worked as a groundskeeper at University of California in Los Angeles.”

When Ice Cube was in school his attention was set on football and music. In his teenage years, Ice Cubes parents moved him to a suburban high school in the San Fernando Valley. Ice Cube witnessed most of his friends be killed or put in jail, if not for his parents moving him to a new school Ice Cube would have probably followed the same path as his friends. Ice Cube still had the same love for rap music as he did in his high school years. So in 1980 he and two others started a group called CIA. Ice Cube soon caught the attention of Dr. Dre a slowly rising rapper and music producer. Ice Cube left the CIA music group and joined N.W.A with Dr Dre, DJ Yella, Eazy-E, and MC Ren. The group's second album straight Outta Compton rocketed the rappers to fame. Ice Cube is considered one of hip-hop's best and most controversial artist. Enraged at how little he had been paid, Ice Cube left N.W.A and went solo. A year after he went solo Ice Cube released his album Amerikkka’s Most Wanted and Death Certificate. These two albums were praised and reviled for their lyrical stance. Also around this time, Ice Cube launched his movie career. He went on major roles in several successful films including Friday's, Three Kings, and Barbershop. Recently Ice Cube starred in 2012’s 21 Jump Street and reprised his same role in 2014’s 22 Jump Street. In 2015, Ice Cube and his son, O’shea Jackson Jr. starred in the movie Straight Outta
