Ida B. Wells Ida B. Wells was born on July 16, 1892 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She started as a slave young in age, so coming from this, Ida knows what it feels like to be in the place of African Americans. Wells was an African American journalists who wanted social justice between whites and blacks. She fought for the rights of the African Americans so they could also be politically equal with the whites. As an active crusader, who was not going to stop fighting for what she wanted until she finally got it. With her not so good education she had to get knowledge about the subject herself. She started writing to help herself gain interest and facial support about what she was going to fight for. Her work as a suffragist also led to Ida being greatly prepared. Moreover, Ida, no matter what the situation, was always prepared for what she was going to take on. Accomplishments Ida B.
