Who is the director/ Writer? What is the director’s background? When was the movie produced? When was the movie released? Identify one or two significant historical events and circumstances of The impostor a true crime documentary directed by Bart Layton. Layton originally found out about a man who had been pretending to be a kid and had traveled all around Europe going to different youth centers his ways were to call the police and act like a damaged youth in a Spain magazine and Layton got curious and wanted to know more about the man who fooled everyone. the impostor was produced in 2012 and was released on August 24, 2012 (United Kingdom).

Layton's purpose for the documentary being created was that he felt like he was like in a detective story. He goes on to explain listening to it you can go from “Holy shit, this is what happened, It’s Obvious.” (Layton) to saying, “I can’t believe I ever thought that.” (Layton) to a matter of minutes. And he thought it would be good to develop the story of Fredrick causing the audience to go on a wild journey of not knowing what to believe and what is what and that everyone is an unreliable witness that you cannot believe them to a certain point, or it change your whole view. One main argument I can make was at the end of the movie when everybody was suspicious of how the Barclay family knew what happened to Nicolas, they were acting aggressively and with all the warnings and signs seeing that want Nicholas in Infront of them they still insisted that it was him which leads me to believe that he is dead and covered it up acting like they do not know
