The effects of immigration concentration on changes in neighborhood crime rates by John M. Macdonald, is the article that I think it makes the most convincing relationship between neighborhood immigration and crime. In this article I found a study that explained how immigrant concentration in the City of Los Angeles they are linked to the reductions of crime rate in their neighborhoods. Referring to the facts, between 2000 and 2005 on the census data, we can see how Los Angeles neighborhoods are connected to a reduction on crime based on the influence of heterogeneity in immigration concentration. Which in one-way or another it has a huge impact against total and violent crime. Meaning that immigrant settlement move to places where we see poverty, economic difficulty, social disorganization with culture conflicts, they start changing the dynamics of crime on those neighborhoods.
