With the election of Donald Trump, the United States may begin to see a shift in the way the country is run. However, time doesn’t stop and people are already beginning to think about what the 2020 election will hold. Gun control, immigration, legalization of marijuana on a federal level, unemployment rates, and abortion may end up being some top issues in the upcoming election. Now President-Elect, Donald Trump, wishes to send illegal immigrants back to their home country. This has created controversy between the candidates in the election as well as the citizens of the United States. A diverse population believes that we should not grant illegal immigrants amnesty because they have broken our immigration laws. Allowing illegal immigrants citizenship is not the rule of American, legal immigration is. However, others believe that it is “inhumane” and “unrealistic” to deport over 11 million immigrants back to the native country when they have families and lives here in the United States. Some believe that an abortion is considered murder because the U.S. Government recognizes unborn babies as humans. The Unborn Victims of Violence Act was enacted to protect the life an unborn child from assault and murder and that anyone intentionally hurting or attempting to hurt one, should be punished.
