This letter is to notify you that several children attending Neptune Elementary have contracted impetigo. Impetigo is sometimes mild infection cased by two bacteria’s coming together. It is easily treated and should be taking with precaution.
Background
Impetigo is a common skin infection in young children. It is contracted by personal contact sharing clothes, toys or other items. They can be tiny red sores that can occur anywhere and can burst open and leak fluid and can develop and yellowish/brown crust. If scratched it can spread to other places on the body.
What should you do? The Florida Health Department suggests you seek a doctor. Impetigo can be treated with antibiotics or a skin cream and can children can
