For as long as I could remember, creativity has played a major role in my life. Where others would use conventional and safe ways to perform tasks, I was the student taking the risk with a creative approach. Yes, it may have not always worked out in my favor, but it had always given me the ability to enjoy every task I had performed. Creativity for myself had always, in a way, been a love-hate relationship and I will explain how so. My first major creative hobby/ art that I seriously got involved in was photography. My friend had asked me to model for a few of his photos and before I knew it, he was handing me the camera while I took photos of him. After traveling to multiple countries, I realized that every single country has a very unique culture and style. It was fascinating how different style and social life were even within different cities. While travelling and enjoying landscape photography, I also fell in love with fashion as a whole. It started consuming my life. Everything I did or saw, was relating to fashion in some way. From new patterns on a wall to religious wear on a person, I was finding ways people incorporate items into their style using their surroundings. A 6-week trip to India where I witnessed mothers and daughters make clothes by hand, and multiple trips to fabric stores to choose my fabrics and colors for the traditional wear, I was hooked. After choosing my fabrics I got to go to tailors and have them design the traditional wear for me and add small details to the clothing, the finished product was shocking. When I came back to Canada, I had a completely new view on fashion. I started going to dressing differently, shopping differently and even started going to local sample sales. I met one of my inspirations at his own sample sale, David Kollar, founder of Kollar Clothing. I loved his style and small details in his designs, but what caught me off guard was how much I connected with
