Most of want the freedom to decide how to live our own lives,but independance requires us to take responsibility of our independence.People expect teens to come out in the real world and start taking care of themselves but never learned a thing about responsibility or being independent. Thats whats going on in the world today,parents are holding their kids back treating them like babies instead of teaching them the things that they need to know.This world is hard to survive in if they don't know how to do things independently. Independence is having freedom to do pretty much anything they want. They have freedom of speech. For example let’s say you’re out at the park or walking around the block or something and somebody comes up to you and tries to rob you that is your personal right to protect you at all costs with that legal weapon that you are carrying. Another value of our personal rights is leaving our house anytime of the day whenever we want to. In other places of the world people are not allowed out the house at certain times.Let’s call it a curfew. First,having a right to protect theirselves is a pretty tough thing to try to beat in this world. Alot of kids struggle with this because in their schools students are not allowed to protect themselves. They would always get in trouble because of the other person wanting to act a fool. I don’t think some school boards understand that people have a life at school too. Think about it, lets say they’re having an argument with someone and they start to push them. What would they do? Run or stay and protect themselves? Kids in school would always have to hear about that one fight that they ran away from or got beat up in because the rules of fighting scares them.Then that’s when some parents get involved because their child does not have a right
