RELATION BETWEEN EXAMINATION SYSTEM AND SOCIO ECONOMIC CONDITION
The exam papers are hardly representative of the entire curriculum. Teachers and students mostly rely on one prescribed textbook.
Exam questions are repeated at least every three to five years and hence questions can be predicted. There are ‘model papers’, or ‘guess paper guides’ available in the market with readymade answers based on past five years papers.
Teachers and students tend to rely on such guides and put their content to memory. Regurgitation seems to be the only key for students

A study shall be conducted to evaluate the impact of technical matriculation and explore ways of introducing an improved system of technical and vocational education at high school level. The stream shall offer two-way link with the academic stream and also provide links to a revamped vocational and technical sector at higher levels.
Approaches shall be found to provide students with a window to the world of work. This could involve short assignments with the local enterprises and institutions or “job shadowing’ approaches to familiarize students with the work environment.
Career guidance and counseling shall be introduced at secondary and upper secondary levels, if not in each school, at least for school clusters. This shall involve local employers in providing information about job openings and the nature of work requirements.

They are working as welders, mechanics, plumbers, electricians and in industries like carpet-weaving, glass and football making. Meager wages are paid to these children.
We need to enrich our assessment standards so that we can measure practical ability and learning of students.
It has been argued that this can be achieved through the combination of both formative and summative assessment.
Improved examination system will affect the level of teaching and learning. And help us in producing a generation equipped with practical knowledge at primary and secondary level.
DIRECTION OF CHANGE AND IMPROVEMENT
We need to improve our assessment methodologies to improve our educational level. For this we need to take following steps
We need to control the dropout ratio of students at primary and secondary level by providing scholarship and free education.
It is required to ensure compulsory primary education for every child.
Curriculum of primary education should be revised and integrate the technical education with the primary education, so that we can get more skilled generation at primary and secondary
