Is family important? Well, the most important theme in The House on Mango Street is family. This novel is about a woman named Esperanza that takes the reader through her struggles and complications of growing up. There are multiple reasons for why family is the most important theme in this novel. One of the reasons to support family is that it occurs a lot in this book. Another reason for family being the theme is that her family is important to her and she cares a lot about all of her family members. The last and final reason for family being the main theme is that her family is always there for her in tough times and is there to support/cheer her up when she is struggling or something tragic happens.
