Although art has been seen as a way of freedom of speech; it did not begin to show up until the 1960’s when their art made by minorities started to be appreciated. MOLAA museum shows an important aspect of U.S. history.
Visiting museums is always fun for many people, especially when you are a little kid. You get to see all kinds of different historical works done by the people from the past and present. I recently haven’t been to any museums since I was little, until I got to visit one for this course. For this Action Research Project Paper, I visited Dallas Freedman’s Memorial located in Dallas, Texas. Dallas Freedman’s Memorial is one of the most beautiful museums and quite depressing at the same time.
It was the early twentieth 100 , and the world had already changed trehands dously compared to the world of their parents and grandparents. Slavery had ended in United States more than half a century earlier. While African American English still faced tremendous economic and social obstacle in both the northern and southern DoS , there were more chance than there had been. After the Civil War (and first slightly before, especially in the Union ), Department of Education for Negroid American English -- and total darkness and white char -- had become more common . Many were not able to attend or complete schooltime time , but a substantial few were able not only to attend and complete elementary or secondary winding school, but college .
I knew that it would be sad but I didn’t realize it would affect me so much. When you enter the museum you walk down some stairs into the main area and in the center there is a room. I walked around the perimeter of the museum first and there are many pieces from the event that you can view and see pictures of. There are remnants from the crash of the towers, from the motor of one of the express elevators to the segment of a radio and television antenna and a first response fire truck that got crushed when the building fells. Not one firefighter in that company survived.

Alessandra Gonzalez-Valdez Professor Kincaid HIST 1301 March 9, 2023 The Importance of Accurate Reconstruction of Historical Pieces The paper, Social Responsibility and the American History Museum by Edward Chappell argues against the reconstruction of historical items in museums and how they impact the social implications they apply. The reconstruction of historical items may change the way people see history. Chappell believes that the builders of history films and museums should portray historical items and events accurately as the reliable books of history are. One point Chappell makes is the governor’s Palace, where it is hard to distinguish whether it is built for aesthetics or to portray the social class of the place of its time.
One can incur impact, but still cause problems through other important issues when it comes to historical interpretation, namely respect. It is important that sites like this one are not only impactful but also respectful. Of course, how a site manages to be respectful can vary depending on the person involved. Something which may seem like a phenomenal idea to one person based on their experiences may incite pain and anger for someone else. I, ultimately, can only speak as an outsider; however, I personally feel that on various fronts, the memorial managed the issue of respect quite well.
Throughout the entire month of February, Midwestern State University has been celebrating Black History Month, an important time for students of color to celebrate what it means to be black, while also educating other students about the cultural significance of the African-American community. Many organizations, such as the African Student Union, the Black Student Union, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, are hosting events and celebrating the diaspora of African culture. Some events that are happening on campus to help celebrate Black History Month include a theatre performance called "Facing Our Truth: Theater Performances", a premiere to Marvel Studios ' "Black Panther", and a lecture entitled "Critical Conversations Series: Is Free Speech Free?".
The inside of the museum is not that big. Once I walked inside with my classmate we found nothing, so we came back to the main entrance. After everyone went in we all gathered in a small room to see a video. Now the video is a must see. First I thought the video would be boring, but it
The past I have encountered outside of a school setting was going to the African American Museum in Dallas, Texas. I have always wanted to go to an African American Museum to experience the setting of the atmosphere because my peers were talking about it so much I wanted to see what the hype was about. Inside the museum there are artistic, cultural and historical materials that are preserve and display of African American Culture. There is this one exhibit that catches my eyes and it is the African Amedia, this exhibit is and open letter that inspire people to look past the stereotypes that are related to each other base on character and not the race. Not every day you face any race conflict but being in a school setting is where it is majority are especially discrimination towards each other.
If people truly want to keep the statues, the government should move the statues to a specific museum, so people that want to see the statues can. If people don’t want the see them the people don’t have to. Many people also think that it proves many things about the war and the people and that it is worth it to maintain. Would you want your taxes and money to be misspent on this statue?
African Americans have always been an intricate part of mathematical, scientific, and engineering based advancements in the United States. Being a part of the minority population of the United States causes many of their successes to be overlooked by their counterparts. Race relations and stereotypes have a lot to do with the way that African American mathematicians, scientist, and engineers have been portrayed throughout the history of the United States. African American intellectuals have been present throughout their duration in what is now the United States. Though the categorization of African Americans has changed from slaves, to negros, to coloreds, then to blacks, and now African Americans, there drive to display their intelligence
In some ways, it can help put an end to racism, it shows the contributions African Americans have made throughout America’s history. These are beneficial things to students and can make schools a place where all children can feel valued, appreciated and safe. It is hard for students to learn in a place where they feel unvalued, unappreciated, and unsafe, their focus is outside of schools, but teaching black history may have a positive impact on students not just during black history month, but all year
However, these monuments are history and although they may not be suitable for a public place nowadays, they are sure a great piece of history for a museum. These monuments are part of all that is left from a certain period in our history. Even though the Confederate period, for example, is not the period of the United States that many are proud of it still happened and it is still history. These monuments should be saved for the sake of knowing about the past, not for personal gain. Some monuments can stay in public for everyone to see.
