The California based food chain In-N-Out Burger takes the American South West by storm. With 305 stores in the United States this privately owned company brings a sense of pride to the West. With routes dating all the way back to 1948, this fast food is truly a big part of the American southwest. After going through some tough years in the past, In-N-Out Burger strives to rebuild its self into a proud company once again. In-N-Out Burger proves to be a progressive nature of society because of the positive working environment for the employees, the open mindedness of the authority, and its ways on giving back. Working at a fast food company may not be the ideal job for many; However In-N-Out Burger brings an extraordinary working environment for its employees. In the 21st century finding jobs is becoming a difficult task for both young adults, and experienced workers. This effects many communities in negative detrimental ways. However In-N-Out’s intentions are to help the towns and communities that they are based in. “We hire from our local communities.”(Koplowitz). This statement was presented following a lawsuit regarding the hiring practices if the company. In-N-Out was not found to be guilty, however their statement stayed true. The company feels that it can give back to the community by offering and accepting jobs to those who live within the community. In-N-Out try’s to create a more economically stable environment. Not only does In-N-Out help local communities, but also In-N-Out attempts to help victims of child abuse through the In-N-Out Burger Child Abuse Foundation. The sole purpose of this foundation is to assist children who are victims of child abuse, and to prevent other children from suffering from abuse. (In-N-Out)
