What's not to like about In-N-Out Burger? What once started in 1948 as a 10x10 drive-thru shack, has now weaved its way into West Coast culture and consequently into many tourists' itineraries. The menu is extremely simple and consists of just three burger varieties: hamburger, cheeseburger, and the ever-popular Double-Double. French fries, fountain drinks and coffee are also available, as well as three flavors of milkshakes. There are additional items you wont see on the menu, but are available at every In-N-Out. These offerings are part of the not so “secret menu.” Secret menu items include the 3x3, 4x4, Neapolitan shakes, grilled cheese sandwich, Protein and Animal Style burgers and fries. They also have a company store, which houses a large variety of In-N-Out merchandise. They boast a line of hats, collectable t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, magnets, and even women’s bikinis.
Locations
There are currently 276 In-N-Out locations in the following five states: California, Nevada, Texas, Arizona, and Utah. Because of the company’s strict freshness policies, all new locations must be close to its distribution facilities, which are located in Baldwin Park, Calif. and Dallas, Texas. This is the main reason In-N-Out has only expanded to five states in the past 66 years
