Nicholas Sparks is the author of many bestselling books and if you haven’t read them you’ve probably seen or heard of one of his movies based off of the books. Some examples are Dear John, A Walk To Remember and his most famous book turned movie, The Notebook. Ronnie is a rebellious but caring teenage girl who lives in New York with her mom and brother, Jonah. She is forced to spend the whole summer in North Carolina with her dad who left their family when Ronnie was still young. Ronnie is obviously not happy about how she will be spending her vacation and she is not afraid to show it. She still tries to make the best of it by making new friends, who are just like her old ones back home, troublesome. Luckily, she comes across someone who will be a much better friend to her, Will. “Ronnie slouched in the front seat of the car, wondering why on earth her mom and dad hate her so much.” He also made it very unpredictable, which I feel like that can be difficult for most romance or dramatic books because in most cases I feel like I can easily guess the ending. You never knew how one conflict would end or if it would end. He also switched between the point of view from three characters, Ronnie, Steve and Will. Switching the point of view around can be tricky and hard to understand but Nicholas Sparks wrote it in a way that made you understand the story better with the change in
