People stereotype everyday. Having stereotypes is to believe unfairly that all people with particular characteristic are the same. According to this definition most Americans stereotype people. People stereotype based on race, gender, age, religion, and sexual orientation. For example, stating all Hispanics are form Mexico or Asians cannot see is stereotyping. Throughout history people have been stereotyped for many reasons. Recently, in the media there have been several shootings and bombings and people think it because of religion. One of the biggest saying that going around is “all Muslims are terrorists.” In the Boston Bombing Trail a potential juror said she feel “he guilty because he is Muslims.” This is where the problem starts. They is a problem in society with using stereotypes to inform people’s opinions; moreover, it becomes a bigger problem when juries cannot put a side their stereotypes to determine a verdict.
