Minimum Wage Should Be Increased!
People who work love to receive a check on pay day. With minimum wage being $7.25, working weekly and bi-weekly hours isn’t enough. A person who works 40 hours a week check averages out to be $290 including taxes. Thus, this is not enough to make payments and not earning enough money to pay bills can cause for someone to work extra hours. Outside of the work place, there are parents who have families to spend time with other than paying bills and making sure food is on the table. A parent has a child to nurture, but she can’t working 12 hour shifts. Being a single parent can be difficult because people are in poverty and often move a lot do to not earning enough income. A single parent face economic hardship and must move around to find places that are more affordable to live. Moving constantly can have an effect on the child's life as well because they are leaving behind friends and adjusting to new schools. This can lead to singles picking up extra hours and working on off days just to have a decent pay check.
