Many parents have a high expectation on teachers thinking they would help their child succeed. Which is not always the case because they have a certain criteria to follow. Teachers are only teaching to the standards because that’s what they have to do rather than expanding kids creativity. Michel de Montaigne wrote the article of the “Education of Children” and Ken Robinson wrote the book of Creative Schools. Robinson’s point says the problem in education is teachers only teaching by the standards. Ken Robinson and Michelle Montaigne believe there is something the people and teachers could do to solve these problems. Montaigne and Robinson stimulate that the solutions are to teach the students how to be independent learners, to let them know that theirs more than one answer and allowing them to be more creativity. …show more content…

By the time he was twenty, he graduated with a double major in math and Chinese (Robinson 56).” He was getting home schooled and when he decided to go to regular school he was on top of his education. Independent learning means making decisions by yourself and learning at your own pace. You’re responsible for your own actions therefore you know if completing your homework if to take a class and passing it. When the teacher assigns you readings to read your are responsible for knowing the material the next day you show up to class or not. Having independent learning doesn’t always matter on how much work you got done, but more of how much did you take in and actually
