“Individual Fate” Keannah Schneider Fate is something that is going to happen beyond human control. A person’s fate is bound to happen sometime in the future. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare tells us as readers, in the beginning that Romeo and Juliet were destined to die. Fate wanted Romeo and Juliet to meet, so instead of Tybalt killing Romeo at the masquerade Lord Capulet stopped him and it allowed them to meet. Another way fate happened was Friar Laurence married the two star-cross’d lovers, assuming the feud between the families would end, but instead it caused death. Lastly, Lord Capulet changed Pairs’ and Juliet’s wedding day from Thursday back to Wednesday, this is what caused Friar Laurence to come up with his plan. Not everyone in Verona had a great education, Lord Capulet's serevent was one of those people. Serevent was assigned to find and invite people on a list, the only problem was he couldn't read. ( Act 4, Scene 2, Line 37) Juliet didn’t want to marry Paris in the first place. She would do anything to run away with Romeo. When Juliet was told her wedding day was moved she immediately went to see Friar Laurence. Friar Laurence came up with a plan that would Romeo and Juliet could ran way and live happily ever after. This caused the Capulets missry, with Juliet “dead” and nobody but Friar Laurence knowing the truth, Romeo eventually found out and was heartbroken. He still wanted to have a happy life with Juliet no matter what. Romeo went to buy poison that could kill twenty men, with one little drop.
