Rick was petrified when he woke up, having no idea where he was or what had happened to his society. He walked outside to find everyone walking around like zombies with their cell phones. There was no turning back, this was now Rick’s new life. He realized that people were no longer talking to each other in person; they were now doing all communications via text or web. Rick looked around, puzzled as ever not knowing what he just got himself into; all he could do was just look around stunned. The government censors what the citizens know which leads them to bottle up their feelings instead of speaking on how they really feel. Being unique isn’t the normal; if you’re not like the society you’re considered abnormal. In today’s society, citizens are becoming more and more dumbed down with less feelings. However, the government hasn’t started to censor things yet. The people in this society have no say so and the government in pulling the strings on the people. Any man’s insane who thinks he can fool the government (33). Censorship was very apparent in this society. Mainly because, the more control you have over your populace the less laws you have to enforce. When people talked they were very careful of what they said because they knew that someone was always watching. If things didn’t benefit the community it was no longer around.
