The reading passage and the professor’s lecture discuss the Industrial Revolution and the great benefit brought by it to the United States. The author of the passage sustains that the Industrial Revolution rapidly spread in all the country for several factors that helped to proliferate it. The professor, in the same way, discusses the Industrial Revolution and he states some examples of how it has changed America. The author offers support for the Industrial Revolution stating that it originally took place in England in the 17th century and then it spread overseas. In according to the passage, the professor says that America easily adapted to the change, in fact to fuel steam power a lot of wood and coal were present in America. Coal were used to fuel boat and ships and it was used in factory, too. Finally, the passage says that another feature that allowed diffusion of the Industrial Revolution was the alteration of the education system. Colleges and technology schools started to teach engeneering and technology subjects. The professor adds that new courses were added to prepare for the new market, as well.
