Inequality, like crime, is proliferative within society, thus it would be an impossible task to rid society entirely of it. However society is able to define a deviant, society is able to recognize what is not and progress towards an idealistic share of standards (Moynihan,2001). Therefore, it is safe to assert that society has surpassed Jeffersonian equality. Equality is a term that is incessantly evolving as society heeds to an ever expanding interpretation of its meaning. This is a good thing! Regardless of the current narrative projected by mainstream media, it is not the president or partisanship that causes society to increase its territory in the realm of equality. In spite of this, economic segregation continues to plague America. However, society isn't talking about this inequity, instead the narrative has become about gender and race issues. As a white child born into the perils of domestic abuse, whose mother escaped into hiding with nothing more than the clothes on her back and her four children, it is difficult to identify with the stigma of privilege that looms over society. In present day America, injustice is experienced by those who have a disadvantaged background. To put it plainly, struggle doesn't discriminate and inequities are not served upon a single gender or race. This thought process is detrimental to society and can only lead to segregation and radicalism. An example of this type radical behavior was displayed in a Huffington Post blog last year in a post titled "Could It Be Time to Deny White Men the Franchise?" ("White Men And The Vote: Why We Took The Blog Down", 2018). Taking away white men's right to vote would somehow solve inequality? Certainly, this is an extreme case of cognitive dissonance. To be clear, this contributor has since been deleted and the entire ordeal has been chalked up as a hoax. Even so, this is not an example of progressive behavior or libertarianism that this media outlet bolsters. Moreover, this violates the 15th Amendment of the United States
