The article describes the events that happened at Memorial Medical Center during and immediately following Hurricane Katrine in Uptown New Orleans. Once the power was knocked out and running water, the hospital tempter rose to about 100 degrees and resources became limited. As resources became limited Anna Pou was force to result to triage which she was not trained for, therefore her method of triage was questioned. Another doctor, Cook, who was the administrator of Memorial ; his methods of patient care were also questioned. In order to evacuate the hospital in the time frame given to him by the state police, Cook gave Pou instructions on how kill four ICU patients who were obese.

While some of these changes, such as light, coal, and more jobs, benefitted the continent and set it towards many of the advances that put us where we are today, many of the changes at the time lead to miserable people within the city. Along with the fact that factories were polluting water in rivers and the air, people working in the factories died young because of long work hours, little sleep and little family time. In addition, people were having many children in order to bring more income to the family, forcing their children to work at as little as the age of three.

Those people became weak and they lost their minds. The amount of people remaining was four in a year, and one of the four was Cabeza de Vaca. The First Shots The American Revolution commenced with an explosive start in 1775, in Lexington, Massachusetts. Gunfire was exchanged between British soldiers and American militiamen, leaving men from both sides wounded, and for an unlucky few, dead. This event has been remembered throughout history, preserved in personal accounts and history texts, but what we have always been uncertain of is this: who fired the first shots? Accounts differ; some insist the British fired first, some say the Americans did, and some say they couldn’t really tell. However, because of personal bias in the accounts, pressure to argue for one side of the story due to who the accounts are being presented to, and how long after the event the account is being given, we can never figure out which side fired first.
The peasants disliked quite a few things and in 1524-1526 they expressed the ideas of them being equal with their lords (masters), and to be led and taught about the Lutheran religion. Document One states, “The peasants are blinded, led astray, and made witless.” meaning that they had no guide or source of the Lutheran teachings. The peasants wanted to be with the lords in church to get a proper knowledge of Lutheranism,. However, the lords did not want them to cause trouble in their church
The british were a force to reckon with, they were the top of the food chain, raining for one-hundred years, destroying powerful nations. A group of farmers, a brewer, and some people who wanted change didn’t seem like they would be any match to the British. A group of people fighting for a cause they believe in is stronger than people fighting for a king. The British brought their own demise by putting tighter and tighter control that led to a revolution in colonial America.
Corporate greedy and corrupt politicians were specific problems and injustices that were present in American life during the late 1800s and early 1900s however these were addressed during the progressive era with laws and regulations. Throughout the gilded era corrupt politicians and corporate greedy allowed the upper class and businessmen to take advantage of the working class. This means that a majority of the population were hurt during the gilded age whereas a small percentage benefitted. As seen in document 1, living conditions were crowded, dirty, and unsafe.

Jerry and Nora Flynn, as parents who have already lost one child, most assuredly are feeling anxieties over the possibility of either their spouse or any of their children contracting this deadly disease. America is much like Rome in the sense that over time and thanks to the foreign influences America received, it was able to blossom and still continues to grow. Specifically, the political, social and economic events of the XYZ Affair, Alien and Sedition Acts, Louisiana Purchase and the despised Embargo of 1807 became turning points which would decide if America was strong enough to survive as a country.
