Informal Brag Sheet/Personal Statement
I have always driven myself to assist people throughout different roles since early adulthood which has led to many leadership opportunities that have prepared me for a career in medicine and science. A career in which I can engage, problem-solve, advocate, and lead change to aid people. These are skills I have been able to develop and practice throughout different stages of life and improve with my educational background.
I prided myself on my ability to multitask and engage in different activities. This has helped with navigating and adapting to different environments without losing motivation, such as studying and working while being able to engage and plan for other extracurricular activities.

I immigrated to this country at the age of 17 and since then put in practice advocacy skills to remain a senior student and graduate high school at the expected time. I’m proud of having the support and encouragement from my parents to put in use self-awareness skills to stay receptive to feedback, follow suggestions, assess when to communicate my academic needs, and recognize my strengths and weakness. Indeed, these skills helped me to embrace my intuition and stay motivated towards the goal of graduation. Some of the skills that I’m grateful for acquiring are active listening, flexibility, empathy, leadership, collaboration, assertiveness, ability to withstand pressure/stress , time management, ethics, and communication even when under pressure. When I couldn’t figure out what was impacting my school performance I decided to focus on the things I could do well to later evaluate how to implement them in areas where I wasn’t. Recently, I retook Physics I and got an A-. I wasn’t able to identify what impacted my academic performance in 2012 but it guided me to what motivated me to complete the pre medicine courses and get tested for ADHD in 2021. The same way as science and research, it was a process of trial and error or a result of quality inspection to approach things in the best possible
