Have you ever played baseball. Baseball is a sport that is most popular in the in the United States that is often called a national pastime. Every spring and summer, millions of people throughout the country come to watch this exciting game. They come to watch their favorite team and player play baseball. One summer afternoon in 1839, at cooperstown, on the shore of otsego lake in upstate New York. That day a responsible young boy named Abner Doubleday sat in a spot and drew up some rules and made a new game called baseball. Doubleday soon became a hero at the battle of Gettysburg, and his game would be a national pastime.. Or that’s what the story says. Some of the positions on the field are second base, catcher, pitcher, and shortstop. Second Base is between shortstop and first base. Now i am going to talk about some if the most famous players in baseball. The first player i am going to be talking about is going to be Jackie Robinson . Jackie Robinson is the one of the most famous players in baseball history if not the most famous. Jackie Robinson was the first african american in the major league baseball. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Everyone in the MLB was hating the Brooklyn Dodgers head coach Burt Shotton. He signed Jackie Robinson to play with him and his team. Even Jackie’s own teammates hated him.
