Hades is a very riveting god. Of course you have to hear more about him, his family and birth has a crazy story, He has some assumed hobbies, passions, and even powers, and he is also married… to his niece! I hope you enjoy learning about Hades.
Hades has a very bold personality and he is a very fascinating god. According to Greek mythology Hades is the god of the underworld. In other myths, and cultures he was called Pluto, or Pluton. Even though a lot of movies, Especially Disney, portray him as a villain, He never really was. Actually, Hades helps heroes, if they ask. The titans, Cronus and Rhea are Hades’ parents. Hades is a brother to Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. According to Disney, Hades was born on October 27. When he was born to the king and queen of the titans, his father swallowed him. His father did this because of a prophecy that his son would overthrow him. Eventually Zeus saved him and the titans got overthrown anyway. Hades also has children of his own. He has a daughter named Melinoë, and a son named Zagreus. Persephone is sometimes referred to as Kore (daughter or maiden). She is the daughter of Demeter and Zeus. She is also Hades' niece, weird. She was the first living person to come to the underworld. Persephone was an innocent virgin, who loved playing in fields. Hades, unfortunately, had other plans. He literally and figuratively deflowered her. He took her innocence and her virginity and she then became the dreaded goddess of the underworld. Zeus did consent to this marriage but Demeter would not, Which is why Persephone was kidnapped. After she was taken to the underworld Demeter was not happy. Demeter then made a deal with Hades that Persephone could spend half of her life in the underworld and the other half on earth, and Hades agreed. Although this deal was fulfilled, little is known of Persephone's life after her abduction. She and Hades had two children, and both are known in Greek
