We always looked to the sky and said, “What’s really out there?”, and “Are we alone?” When we set foot on the moon in 1969, we made a huge step in mankind’s history. Now its possible that in this century, we will have Mars colonized. There are already various expeditions that are preparing, but the catch is, you can’t return to Earth again. The Mars One had over 200,000 people sign up from around the world, but only 24 can be picked for the actual expedition. The very conversation of it has to do a lot with science. Experts have to see how the rocket should be built, when they should take off, at what time, what trajectory to put the rocket into, how much training the volunteers need to actually live on Mars, how the suits should be made, et cetera. But the thing that scientists are most worried about is the space radiation. If they are exposed to any of it at all, they can suffer serious long term damage to various parts of their bodies, including organs. Also other things they are worrying about not too little but actually too much oxygen. They fear that their greenhouse compartment will create too much oxygen, and they will suffocate within 68 days of arrival. But there are many long term benefits, and by long term, I mean really long term. If the colonization goes accordingly, more people will go, and there will be more colonists. Therefore people will make more long term changes to Mars’ environment. First they could begin by melting Mars’ ice water and making it liquid. Then, somehow, they make spew greenhouse gases similar to Earth's into the atmosphere, and slowly, little by little, Mars will begin to create and atmosphere.
