Miranda Rights Ernesto Miranda was born on March 9, 1941 in Mesa, Arizona. He was never close with his family, and he mostly kept to himself. He was a troubled kid ever since he started school. Year after year, he became to get more violent and aggressive. His criminal record started when he was in eighth grade when he attempted burglary. The following year, he dropped out of school when he was convicted of a second burglary where he was sent to 12 months in reform school. Soon after his release, he was convicted with rape and assault. This time, he had a two year sentence. After a few more offenses, he joined the military. However, if a U.S. citizen who does not speak English needs a federal document to be translated, it should be translated in their language for that person to understand the document. The government should also allow free English classes for non-English speaking citizens, so that they may have the knowledge to understand basic English literature. As for non-citizens, the government should not be required to translate any document or have any document read to them for they are not a citizen of the United States. The reason being is that citizens are tax payers. They pay the government to live on their land, so the government should give their citizens what they need. Illegal immigrants don’t pay taxes, so the government should not allow them to be in our country and to have the rights that a citizen would have. If the government started to publish all of their material in other languages as well as English and allowed illegal immigrants to live in the U.S., the English language will become less and less abundant throughout the country. The primary language of the United States is English, so an illegal immigrant should not expect the U.S. government to translate anything for them. As a country, there should be one prime language. Secondary languages may be included, but it should not become a national
