He was a prodigious piano player who inspired, motivated, and sparked the world. He was the very man who changed me as an individual and encouraged me to be the person I am today. However, that didn’t stop him from believing and pursuing his dreams. He had many hard obstacles thrown at him, but he dodged every single one of them. Even through rough times, Ray didn’t give up hope with his mom’s help. He believed strongly in his dreams and never stopped. I have been through a multitude of barriers myself as well - some of which include death in my family and Acid Reflux (A digestive disease). Curious thoughts would swirl inside my head. I would ask myself, “What if the audience doesn’t like my performance?” or “I know for a fact that I am going to mess up.” However, something changed my mind. Ray had been neglected many times as a child, even as an adult. Yet, he would put that past him and do what he loves to do. He didn’t show any fear or concern when playing the piano. He didn’t care if the audience loved it or not, he would just do it. Ray would simply go on stage and play with style. Every time there would be a special event, I kept this in mind.
